Another great day for a run today!
Since today was a cardio-only day for me and the weather was nice and cool, I skipped the gym and planned on a 4 mile run outside.
However, when I got to my turn around point at mile 2, there was such a pleasant breeze and I was still feeling so pumped up that I took a detour and tacked an extra 2 miles onto my run.
There’s just something so satisfying about a nice long run. After a good hard workout or a long run like this (especially since there are SO many hills) I feel particularly accomplished. The rest of the day I feel like I can do anything (is that what this “runner’s high” is?)
Pre-run I had mixed myself up a healthy snack that I read about on Undressed Skeleton.
1 Greek yogurt (I chose coconut flavored, but I bet banana would be great too!)
1 Tbsp Cocoa powder
1 packet Stevia (optional, for added sweetness)Coconut and chocolate were a delicious combination, and in retrospect I only wish I’d thought to toss some almonds into the mix for an Almond Joy-esque snack. I left the yogurt in the freezer while I went on my run and by the time I made it back it had reached a perfect almost-frozen consistency.
Later on, lunch was some leftover Sauteed Cauliflower and Tomato served with a glass of my Green Tea Lemonade
Still feeling great from my run today and going to go check a few more things off of my to-do list. 🙂
